On Saturday a group of Amateur Radio operators including myself spent the day at a Local Scout centre and had Scouts come along to see what Amateur Radio is all about. Some of the Scouts were there at the Jota event we did last October. I only made one contact which was to an MWØ station operating from Holy Island in Wales on 7MHz. Others members of the group made more contacts than I did, but was still a good day and some of the Scouts who turned up are hopefully going to do the Foundation Licence course we are hoping to put on later this year.

New Countries Contacted
Finally getting out further than UK on Amateur Radio. Using a mode called PSK31 which the computer send through the radio, I know have Italy, Ukraine and Bulgaria in my logbook. If you have worked me, remember to collect your eQSL from http://www.eqsl.cc
Going Dotty?
After a night at the Whitton Amateur Radio Group on Friday, and thanks to my Christmas Present, I have finally started to learn Morse Code. I am using the Key with my radio and some software including Justlearnmorsecode. I have also made some MP3 for use on my mini MP3 player. (At the moment just learning letters “M” and “K”.)
