Real QSL Cards have arrived

This morning I took delivery of my QSL cards. They are better than ordered, I think as there was a delay, UX5UO Print added a second colour. If you have had a QSO with me I shall be starting to write them shortly. First, Special Cards, (for Friends), then International cards, Local Club (inc. Members), and lastly other UK QSOs. I think I may also have some help from my sister to write them, although will cost me (Hopefully not too much). Well, back to work!

2EØTZO makes 500th Contact

Tue 07 Mar 2006 00:51:59

At 00:03 (UTC/GMT) I made my 500th contact with my 2EØTZO callsign. I achieved this with M3TBP using an eQSO link in Bromley, Kent. On my M3TZO callsign I made 237 from March 2004 to June 2005 (about 15 months with exception of the very last contact. This was with GB200T in October 2005). I am now looking at working towards getting some of the Worked All Britain (WAB) awards, starting with the “London Calling” award.

QSL Cards

For those who visit my site in reference to my Amateur Radio hobby (and have hopefully worked me), I have some good news. In next few weeks I should be taking delivery of an order of QSL cards. I currently upload ALL my contacts to www.eQSL.cc (please use 2E0TZO as referrer if you sign up). But am ordering a supply for both 2E0TZO and M3TZO (combined) from UX5UO QSL. For various reasons I am ordering the basic or “SIMPLE (BUREAU)” cards. 1) Cost=£20 2) Photo I want to use is Black and White anyway 3) Hopefully I will upgrade to Advanced call in near furture and will order a new Colour version then.

Holy Communication?

On Saturday a group of Amateur Radio operators including myself spent the day at a Local Scout centre and had Scouts come along to see what Amateur Radio is all about. Some of the Scouts were there at the Jota event we did last October. I only made one contact which was to an MWØ station operating from Holy Island in Wales on 7MHz. Others members of the group made more contacts than I did, but was still a good day and some of the Scouts who turned up are hopefully going to do the Foundation Licence course we are hoping to put on later this year.
